Mountain Youth Basketball League
The Knott County Sportsplex is proud to be the home of this new and exciting basketball league. This league will consist of teams from Knott, Perry, Leslie, Floyd, and Letcher counties. There will be six divisions of play.
- Mini All Stars - a coed division for boys and girls age 4 to 6
- Little Champions - coed division for boys and girls ages 7 and 8
- Semi-Pro Girls - ages 9 and 10
- Semi-Pro Boys - ages 9 and 10
- Pro Girls Division - ages 11 and 12
- Pro Boys Division - ages 11 and 12
- All-Pro Girls Division - ages 13 and 14
- All-Pro Boys Division - ages 13 and 14
Come join the fun on one of our five basketball courts in our new air-conditioned Sportsplex. Between games visit our arcade and bowling alley while Mom and Dad take advantage of our fitness center and walking track.
General Rules
- Games will consist of 4 six minute quarters
- Mercy rule will go into effect after a twenty point lead
- Teams must have a minimum of 8 players
- Players can not be added to a team’s roster beyond the second game
- Players must have insurance
- Teams should have legal uniforms
- Basketballs will be supplied by the Sportsplex
- Players are to carry playing shoes into the facility
- Home team will provide official scorer and timer
- Players can play up a level but not down
- All players on the roster must play 1 quarter
Mini All Stars
- Wrist Band Rule
- Coach has discretion to shoot freethrows or inbound the ball
- No backcourt defense
- Eight foot goal
- 27.5 inch ball
Little Champions
- Eight foot goal
- 28.5 inch ball
- Back court defense allowed by trailing team only in the fourth quarter
Semi Pro, Pro And All-Pro Girls
- Ten foot goal
- 28.5 inch ball (Girls Only)
Semi Pro, Pro And All-Pro Boys
- Ten foot goal
- 29.5 inch ball (boys)
